Ylva Veith

Ylva joined AnkarklevLab in September 2022 after finishing her master’s degree. Since her undergraduate studies, her field of interest has been parasitology. Her main fascination is the high diversity of protozoan parasites, their vertebrate host interactions and the evolution of these relationships.
About Ylva Veith
Ylva has graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Quantitative Molecular Biology from the Humboldt University of Berlin, where she performed both her theses in field of parasitology. During her master’s studies, she focused on Plasmodium falciparum and her current interests include aspects relating to; gene expression, regulation and genetic pathway modeling, linked to sexual stage development and cell fate.
Ylva actively participated in the student council and student café where she was boasting her table-football skills. In addition, she likes to hike and read (science fiction) to balance busy days in the lab
