Our lab participated in the SciLifeLab Spatial Summit 2024, a full-day event centered around Spatial Biology. The summit featured presentations on recent developments in spatial omics and how these technologies are being applied across various areas of life sciences.
Big shout out to our PhD student Miren Urrutia who received the "Best Poster Award" for her research presentation on malaria liver-stage biology!
The event included talks by leading researchers in the field, including: Gonçalo Castelo-Branco (Karolinska Institutet, Sweden), Ron Heeren (Maastricht University, The Netherlands), and Arutha Kulasinghe (The University of Queensland, Australia), who discussed the application of spatial biology in their research. Cecilia Lindskog (Uppsala University, Sweden), Joakim Lundeberg (KTH-SciLifeLab, Sweden), Sinem Saka (EMBL, Germany), Jeffrey Spraggins (Vanderbilt University, USA), and Carolina Wählby (Uppsala University, Sweden) provided further insights into advancements in spatial technologies.
We thank @SciLifeLab for organizing the event and for facilitating discussions on the future of spatial biology. The methods and technologies presented at the summit will be highly relevant to our ongoing research and we look forward to incorporating them in our ongoing research.
