Francesco Topi

His journey into Biology began during high school, sparking his interest and leading him to pursue a bachelor's degree in Biological Science with a focus on Molecular Biology at the Università degli studi di Urbino Carlo Bo. While studying in Urbino, Francesco gained valuable experience through an internship at a microbiology lab, where he contributed to research on Staphylococcus Aureus.

His bachelor’s thesis explored the differentiation of monocytes in tumor and atherosclerotic environments, further developing his molecular biology knowledge and laboratory skills. During this time at the Ankarklev Lab, Francesco is dedicated to the development of an in-house modifiable RNA FISH system.

In his free time, Francesco enjoys practicing sports, with a particular passion for weightlifting.
